Fire Eels are just one of a variety of freshwater eels that can be kept in an aquarium. They have a dark colored body with some yellow and orange to red lines running the length of their body. These eels look cool, have their own unique personality and are fun to keep in a large aquarium. They are the coolest freshwater eel ever!
Fire eels grow to be as long as 39 inches and need a large aquarium.

The blue one reminds me of sea life in the tropics. I once went to an Indonesian resort and was surprised as to how vivid (and how strikingly similar) the blueness of a starfish and a nearby coral snake (definitely announcing his poison) were. Posted June 12, 2008 |
